Seminar Details
As part of the TÜBİTAK 124N067 project titled “Sustainable Management of Aquaculture Production Systems,” a seminar and workshop session was organized on March 05, 2026 at Bursa Uludağ University.
During the seminar session, Prof. Dr. N. Kamil Salihoğlu from the Department of Environmental Engineering at Bursa Uludağ University delivered a presentation introducing Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). The presentation provided an overview of the fundamental principles of RAS technology, its main components, and its role in improving water use efficiency and environmental sustainability in aquaculture production systems.
Following this presentation, Şevval Şendal delivered a project introduction presentation on the TÜBİTAK 124N067 project titled “Sustainable Management of Aquaculture Production Systems.” The presentation introduced the objectives of the project, the ongoing research activities carried out in collaboration with international partners, and the main outputs obtained so far. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of educational materials, training activities, and knowledge transfer initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable aquaculture practices.
After the seminar presentations, a workshop session was conducted with the participants. In this session, participants were asked to answer a set of introductory questions related to both the project introduction presentation and the fundamentals of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). The activity aimed to reinforce the key concepts presented during the seminar and to encourage interactive participation and discussion among attendees.
