Course Details (June 2025)
The TÜBİTAK-funded project (No. 124N067) presents a multidimensional vision addressing food safety, efficient water management, bio-integration, and entrepreneurship, building a strong bridge between Türkiye’s strategic priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Within this framework, Prof. Dr. N. Kamil Salihoğlu, the project coordinator, conducted an academic study visit to the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) – Faculty of Biosciences between 14–20 June 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the engineering, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainable aquaculture systems, particularly in the context of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS); to benefit from NMBU’s scientific expertise; and to enhance the international visibility of the research carried out within the TÜBİTAK project.
During the visit, Prof. Salihoğlu participated in the “Immunonutrition PhD Course” and delivered an invited lecture titled “Evaluation of Sustainability in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS)”, strengthening scientific dialogue and collaboration.
This visit significantly contributed to the project’s goals on international cooperation, knowledge transfer, and capacity building. The presentation content, focusing on RAS technologies and sustainability indicators, was well received by NMBU’s academics and students.
Photographs captured during the visit document the academic interactions, classroom environments, and campus meetings, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the event.
In conclusion, the visit represented a strategic milestone that not only advanced scientific exchange but also enhanced Türkiye’s international visibility in the field of sustainable aquaculture. The discussions laid a solid foundation for future interdisciplinary research.
